Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

As you can tell, I'm not sure if I'm going to keep up with this blogger stuff. Seems like it is always the last on my list and never gets updated.

The last few weeks have been crazy busy! I'm heading to Nelson on Friday for a week or so. Mike is having a boys weekend and looking forward to deep sea fishing on Sat. I'll be going to Heather's baby shower and then helping get ready for B's big day. I'm so excited!!

We have been to some pretty cool places- NC Aquarium, NC Museum of Science, Twisted Fork (yummy!), & Augusta County Fair.

My teacher friend Jessica had a little girl last week-Elizabeth-I'm taking them dinner tomorrow night.

Tonight Kim's SIL & family are in town so we are going to try and catch up with them.

Mike went out of town and should be back sometime this afternoon/evening.

Callum is actually still sleeping- long night- apparently his molars are moving in!

It's A Girl

Think pink. Kim found out today they are having a girl. Watch out Callum! A cute surfer chick coming your way ;-)

We are back in town after a whirlwind vist to Nelson. Mike had some work to do in C'ville so I jumped at the opportunity to spend some time in the 'ford. Last night we had dinner at Vito's and I hear they are coming to Nellysford. I will need to get the direct number so I can get in touch with Dad.

Callum and I loaded up on ice cream and Bruce's music. It is so funny to watch Cal dancing to B.'s guitar playing. He has clapping down packed too. Be on the look out for a little man's guitar. Dad played a little bass for us all and we sang Old Mc'D several times.

Liz and Derek are coming to visit this weekend. I can't wait to see what Corbin and Callum think of each other. Hopefully Corbin will inspire Cal to walk. He is super close.

Kim finds out the sex of her little one next week. I'm so excited!

Ocracoke Island

Spent the weekend here. Tifanie and Bill are getting married July 26th so it was nice for her to get some girl time and some sexy lingerie. The first night we went to dinner at The Back Porch and then drinks at Howard's Pub. Saturday we tried to hit the beach, but the rain got us. So we had some lunch at the Jolly Roger, toured the island on our bikes, did some shopping, grabbed dinner at Mango Loco's and back to the pub. I've never been to Ocracoke in the summer. We always go in the fall when the tourists are gone. I was amazed at how busy the little island was. A couples trip in the works for the fall.

Mike and Callum had a great time together. I think they were both excited to see me come home. Callum immediately put his arms up for me to scoop him up. The best feeling in the world!

The dreaded deer flies are biting the crap out of us (or I guess I should say sucking all of our blood). This is one insect I truly hate! Any ideas on how to get rid of them? Nothing seems to work.

Happy Father's Day

Both of my boys are taking Father's Day naps. We spent most of the day at the beach yesterday followed by sushi for dinner. Today we took it easy, had some Mama Kwans for lunch. Callum seemed to have a taste for fish tacos~ just like his momma.

Called Dad ~ He was going to The Lobster for lunch. I sent him The Bucket List in the hopes he might actually sit and relax for a few minutes.

Mike has a pretty slow week ahead, I think. I'm going to try to do some maintenance on myself. I need to cash in on my massage, get some new contacts, maybe a haircut, etc.

I'm going to Ocracoke on Friday for a girls weekend. I'll be prepping Mike for his weekend with Callum or maybe I should be prepping Callum. All in all, I'm sure I will be a nervous wreck, but it will be so nice to get away for the weekend.

We offically have a Dunkin Donuts. I'm going to sneak away for an afternoon Iced Coffee.

Everyone wonders what Cal has been up to these days. This morning he was helping me make the bed.

We have had a super busy Mom's day. Cal decided to get me up a little early this morning to celebrate. I'm going to stay a few extra days in Nellysford since Mike has to work out of town this week. Maybe I will get a little leisure time in the new Target shopping center. I really want to hit up Michael's and Kohl's too. Cal is loving all the attention and new animals. I think we almost have him saying "kitty kitty". Hope everyone had a nice day!

Below are some guinea's that run through Mom/Dad's yard.
They are very loud, annoying birds. Cal loves them!
Liz, I thought you would enjoy seeing the random farm animals ;-)

Hail from Thurs. storm

Grandpa is off entertaining Cal, and Mom is napping. I have a few minutes to myself to check email and upload some pictures.

We are getting ready to head over to Chelle's and celebrate Dad's b-day. Mom made him his favorite yellow box cake with choc. frosting. Shame on him for not having pound cake.

Heather's Dad turned 60 yesterday. We went to his surprise party in C'ville today.

We are in Nelson for a few days. I love being off from school and being able to spend time with the family. We came home to celebrate Dad's b-day. Heather will be here on Sat. too.

Bekah has been hanging out with us. We took a few pictures on the beach and the we went to a "critter" making workshop. It was by Closer to Home.

The next few days we are booked solid. Callum and I are going to visit Mom at work. Friday I get my haircut...yippee! Sat. we visit w/Heather. Sun cook-out at Chelles. Dad and Callum have plans to mow the lawn.

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

I see the sun peeping out. Looks like it might be a beautiful day. I really want to do a whole lot of nothing. I want to start planting some flowers. Any suggestions? I really want the kind that I do not have to water...I like to plant the flowers, but somehow it slips my mind that they need water too. Day lillies have been perfect for me.

I've been trying to catch up on the news. It's all Miley. I am not an avid reader of Vanity Fair. I assumed it was geared for us older ones. So why would we want to see a 15 year old on the cover?

Callum still has the sniffles. Must be allergies. He does not like having snot pulled out of his nose. When do they learn to blow their own nose? He goes for his 9mo. check-up next Tues. Then we are heading to Nelson for a few days. Dad's b-day is on the 10th.

I'm going to catch last nights bachelor online. (I'm so cheesy for watching that stuff, I know)

We are in Louisburg, NC. Both of my boys are sound asleep and I can't seem to wind down.

We had planned to go downtown Raleigh today and see the museum. However, we got a late start and ended up spending the evening at Triangle Town Center. The kids seem to call all the shots these days. We had lunch at Twisted Fork and topped it off with a little TCBY.

Callum has been having so much fun being entertained by Lynn (18mo.) He is wore slam out. Last night, he had the best sleep ever after cutting 6 teeth over the past two weeks. He is still being lazy about crawling, but soooo close.

Another busy day tomorrow. We are headed to have lunch with Omi (Mike's Mom) and all the German ladies. This will be his first trip to Fayeteville.

So, I need to hit the bed. We plan to hit the road at 830 AM-

dust off the blog

I realized I haven't made a post in quite some time. The daily grind has been keeping me busy. We are all unpacked and sorta back on schedule and we leave next Wed. for Louisburg.

I have decided to take another year off from teaching. So, I've tried to get all my routine Dr. appts. taken care of so I can switch my insurance. Selecting an insurance plan is quite the ordeal. I have always had group insurance and since Mike is self-employed it is a costly nightmare.

These last few days the weather has been beautiful. Callum loves to be outdoors as much as I do. We need our backyard landscaped so badly. Mike suggested we enter our yard on the DIY network (America's most desperate landscape). We've got to get it ready for a Fiesta Gym.

Monday we celebrated Mom's 60th by giving her a "red hat". Aunt Carolyn took us to lunch at the Biltmore Plantation. Last night was AUCE crab legs. Today is going to be a relaxing day on the beach. I'm heading there soon as little man wakes up from his nap! I'll take some more pictures.
