Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

I see the sun peeping out. Looks like it might be a beautiful day. I really want to do a whole lot of nothing. I want to start planting some flowers. Any suggestions? I really want the kind that I do not have to water...I like to plant the flowers, but somehow it slips my mind that they need water too. Day lillies have been perfect for me.

I've been trying to catch up on the news. It's all Miley. I am not an avid reader of Vanity Fair. I assumed it was geared for us older ones. So why would we want to see a 15 year old on the cover?

Callum still has the sniffles. Must be allergies. He does not like having snot pulled out of his nose. When do they learn to blow their own nose? He goes for his 9mo. check-up next Tues. Then we are heading to Nelson for a few days. Dad's b-day is on the 10th.

I'm going to catch last nights bachelor online. (I'm so cheesy for watching that stuff, I know)

We are in Louisburg, NC. Both of my boys are sound asleep and I can't seem to wind down.

We had planned to go downtown Raleigh today and see the museum. However, we got a late start and ended up spending the evening at Triangle Town Center. The kids seem to call all the shots these days. We had lunch at Twisted Fork and topped it off with a little TCBY.

Callum has been having so much fun being entertained by Lynn (18mo.) He is wore slam out. Last night, he had the best sleep ever after cutting 6 teeth over the past two weeks. He is still being lazy about crawling, but soooo close.

Another busy day tomorrow. We are headed to have lunch with Omi (Mike's Mom) and all the German ladies. This will be his first trip to Fayeteville.

So, I need to hit the bed. We plan to hit the road at 830 AM-

dust off the blog

I realized I haven't made a post in quite some time. The daily grind has been keeping me busy. We are all unpacked and sorta back on schedule and we leave next Wed. for Louisburg.

I have decided to take another year off from teaching. So, I've tried to get all my routine Dr. appts. taken care of so I can switch my insurance. Selecting an insurance plan is quite the ordeal. I have always had group insurance and since Mike is self-employed it is a costly nightmare.

These last few days the weather has been beautiful. Callum loves to be outdoors as much as I do. We need our backyard landscaped so badly. Mike suggested we enter our yard on the DIY network (America's most desperate landscape). We've got to get it ready for a Fiesta Gym.

Monday we celebrated Mom's 60th by giving her a "red hat". Aunt Carolyn took us to lunch at the Biltmore Plantation. Last night was AUCE crab legs. Today is going to be a relaxing day on the beach. I'm heading there soon as little man wakes up from his nap! I'll take some more pictures.
